Angry youth stone, abuse Adam Zango at Kaduna Musical Festival
The maiden edition of the Kaduna Musical Festival kicked off Saturday with musicians performing at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The event was declared opened by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Musicians who performed on the first day of the event include Olu Maintain, Wande Coal, Patoranking and MI.
The event was however interrupted immediately Kaduna-based Adam Zango was introduced and invited onstage.
The crowd started throwing stones at him while chanting hate words at the actor/ singer, saying (Bamaso) meaning we don’t want him.
“They insisted that the artiste apologise to Kaduna people for claiming that “he taught Kaduna people how to wear good dress,” a witness said.
It took over three hours for security operatives to calm the protesters.
They subsequently requested Mr. Zango to apologise for his offensive comment.
Rarara, a popular pro-Buhari singer, who also sang Saturday, took to the microphone to plead with the crowd to allow Mr. Zango perform.
Mr. Zango later apologised, saying he was misquoted and misunderstood.
“At no point did I ever said that I taught Kaduna guys how to wear good dress, but if any person is angry with me here, I am sorry,” he said.
He was later allowed to perform.
PREMIUM TIMES spoke to Mr. Zango’s associate, Suleiman Sukus, who was also at the event about the incidence.
“Zango never said anything like that,” Mr. Sukus said. “Just like he said on stage, he never did and will never forgive who ever cooked such a story.”
When PREMIUM TIMES contacted Mr. Zango for comments, he declined, saying he was still trying to come to terms with what happened.
Mr. Zango is the only singer from Kaduna at the event.
The event continues tomorrow with stars like, Tuface, and American singer Joe, performing.
The event is sponsored by Zenith Bank, Etisalat and Skye Bank.

Rahma Sadau releases lovely new photos
MUSIC: peGYAMzee_INTERNATIONAL
After successful hits like "WHY SEXY GIRL" and "LOVER OVERDOSE" in the past Peter Gyams popularly called peGYAMzee is back, bigger, better and re brand now as and hausa rapper with this dope tune "INTERNATIONAL"(reason my matter local).
The midi tempo song was produced by GID and peGYAMzee delivering a hook both in English/Yoruba and still punch the two verses well with his hausa flow.
In my opinion I can boldly say this is not just a song but an anthem to all artist(indigenous),hustlers and anybody that got big dreams for the future cause if them #ReasonYourMatterLocal you just smile and tell them that one day they must #TreatYouInternational.
