Showbiz industries are one of the fastest growing industries world-wide and it is one industry that is very versatile and consists of various aspects that include Music, Film-making, Stand-Up comedy, to mention just a few.

In a bid to encourage the various professional hands, stake-holders and corporate bodies that make the industry tick, awards are being organised as recognition to the efforts that contribute to the growth of the industry.

The Mission of Kannywood Exclusive

Kannywood Exclusive is already a vibrant and active online source of Hausa Entertainment. Hausa films/music has been mostly limited to West Africa. Now with great technologies like the Internet one can Stream a full movie online through phones and computers… and so our goal is to use these technologies to further promote and spread the Kannywood Entertainment industry and Hausa culture globally.

Our goal is to provide a way to watch Kannywood Movies/Music online in full. Some Hausa movies are being uploaded on youtube, but are very few and usually are outdated at the time they will be uploaded, and most of these movies were uploaded without even the consent of the film owners. This serves as the only way for those outside of West Africa to watch Hausa films/music.

We are on the verge of creating a Standard website for all this features. Where there will be up to date day by day news of any Kannywood related activity, online Movie and Music Streaming (both Free and Pay movies), Downloads, Trailers, a tab to Know most Cast and Crews, Movies to watch out for, and many more.

We will also be creating Mobile apps (for Android,Blackberry,IOS,Symbian, & Java with 3G) and PC software that will also accommodate these features, to make it easier for users around the world.

IMPACT OF KANNYWOOD TO THE NORTH
"I can’t deny the fact that I was once ignorant of the importance of kannywood to our country, Nigeria. Most especially my adorable region, the north. which is now facing many challenges. North is where highest rate of poverty exist, North is where world largest number of unemployed youth lives. North is where dividend of democracy has never happened until the emergence of Gov. Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state where real transformations have taken place. North is now where genocide becomes on daily basis. In fact, many problems are as a result of object poverty, low quality education and bad economy. it seems no one cares. People should be aware of the government inability to tackle high rate of unemployment in our region. Kannywood, a northern Nigeria movie industry has employed thousands of youth and graduates. Kannywood reduces drastically our high rate of unemployed youth in the north and contributes immensely to the growth of the northern economy and the country at large. So I deemed it necessary to enlighten northerners’ orientation towards Kannywood. Kannywood needs our support, it needs our contributions and sugesstions. the pioneers of kannywood like Adam A Zango, Ali Nuhu, Falalu a Dorayi, Mai Kwai Movies, Saira Movies, Asnanic tunes, Uk and Abnur entertainments and lot others whose braveness and talent have made kannywood so proud and boomed. So they deserve our love and applause because they are the ones you have common culture, environment, religion and interest with. They promote the cultural heritage of our grandparent to present generation. through their movies they entertain, educate and inculcate in younger ones the moral and spiritual values needed for proper upbringing. i hereby solicit from the public our consistent and collective patronage to their movies, concerts and live performances. Support them in tackling piracy and impersonation of some stars. Long live KANNYWOOD, Long live AREWA, and Long live Nigeria"

I don’t play with the Northern female act – Uzee Concept

Usman A. Adeyemi ( Nollywood/Kannywood) Actor/Producer is unarguably one of the Best Producers from the North. He produces both Nollywood and Kannywood Movies and also combines both in one piece like Oga Abuja, highly anticipated MAJA, and now Hassana da Ussaina.

Usman agreed to an interview with Kannywood Exclusive’s Umar IBN. This is what he has to Say.

KannywoodEx: How did you got into the world of movie production?

Uzee Usman: Hmmmmmmm. Started 2003, Started as a makeup artist in Nollywood. I studied make up and special effect in South Africa, a 1 year course. Then I came down and started makeup full time. Did some big movie as a makeup artist which won me few awards. Like London boy which I use to win best makeup act AMAA awards 2007-2008. Then I started producing. I produced my 1st film titled Under and Underproject which I shoot in Ghana, B4 I said it's time for me to come back to where I came from and give my people some, and be part of the revolution of the industry in the North so that our voice can be heard globally? Because I was born and brought up in Kaduna, did all my schools in Kaduna both primary and secondary. I have 2 degrees, 1 in UNIJOS English 2nd in UNIABUJA with Political science so I came down to work in Kannywood. my 1st was Wata shari’ar with Jim-iyke. B4 I now meet Abba Miko Yakasai my now partner. We set with him to look on how to make the Local industry of ours international and more of national. And the only way we can achieve that is to keep merging Nollywood n kannywood proper. That’s how Oga-Abuja came in then after that we keep it going by shooting 1 merging movie and 1 normal kannywood movie. From Oga-Abuja we did Mai Farin Jini then MAJA then Har Da Mijina then Hassana da Ussaina.

KannywoodEx: How do you convince Nollywood stars to agree to a movie where they will have to speak Hausa?

Actor and Producer: Usman A. Adeyemi ( Nollywood/Kannywood) came to fame starring in movies, some of which he produced. The young CEO Uzee Concept who began his movie career in the year 2003, started as a make-up artist where he won an award at the (African Movie Academy Awards) AMAA in 2008; Best Makeup Artist for the movie, London Boy and soon gained experience and contact that launched him into stardom.
 Usman Uzee, who was born in Kaduna, Nigeria on the 11th of November 1984, is a unique figure in the industry at the moment based on his penchant for movies that bring Kannywood and Nollywood together. The young Kannywood producer holds two degrees in Political science and English from University of Abuja and University of Jos respectively. Uzee moved to South Africa where he studied Special Effects.
