Famous award winning Hausa movie actress Fati Ladan has on last week Friday bided the Hausa movie industry a farewell as she tie the knot with her long standing lover Shetima Yarima.
Fati Ladan who is seen as the next Kannywood screen queen has decided to quit the screen business and get married to her heartthrob in a low keyed wedding arrangement in Kaduna.
The wedding Fatiha was conducted at Anguwn Sarki Kaduna with thousands of well-wishers in attendance even though there was a last minute change of venue due to some certain domestic issue related to the bride’s choice of husband.

Why I dumped Kannywood for music, Zee Zee

Zee Zee, as she is popularly called, said she decided to quit the Hausa film industry as a result of the Hiyana scandal. It will be recalled that some years back, one of the Hausa film actresses, Maryam Hiyana found herself in a sex scandal where a video clip was circulated specifically through phones. That led to the unending crisis between the Kano State Censorship Board and the filmmakers. The board at a point banned production of Hausa films in the state and the subsequent lift of the ban led to why the censorship board had to put in place measures regulating filmmaking in the state. As a result of this, so many filmmakers abandon the career while others relocated to other states they considered more conducive for their esteemed career.

“I decided to put a stop to acting in Kannywood because of the Hiyana saga which drew lots of attention from all parts of the world. That actually gave a different impression of filmmakers to the extent that we were resented in the society, our films from then became unpopular and anywhere we went, people looked down on us and the government also suspended filmmaking in the state and later came up with stringent rules and regulations guiding the practice, that is why I decided to give up and pursue a career elsewhere. So far, I have worked with anumber of artists among whom are Timaya, Jonah the monarch, Duncan Migthy”, said Zee Zee.

Hadiza Aliyu Gabon: My name is Hadiza Aliyu but I am popularly called Hadiza Gabon, I was born in the city of Libreville, the capital of Gabon and I also had my primary and secondary education there, after that, I read Law because I have always wanted to become a lawyer. I wrote my A levels and chose Law as a course. I started my first year but along the line, I dropped out of school due to some personal issues I had back then but then I still went ahead to have a diploma in French Language  and with that, I taught French language in a private school. After then I came down to Nigeria and joined the movie industry, Kannywood to be precise
 My mum hails from Mubi Local Government Area in Adamawa State while my dad is from Gabon.
How did you come about the name Hadiza Gabon?
 I am a Gabonese, people especially those in the movie industry do address me as a Gabonese girl. That was how the name Hadiza Gabon came about and it stuck.
How did you come about acting movies?

Rabi Mustapha is dead

Popular Kannywood actress, Rabi Mustapha, died on Wednesday, February 26, in Kano after a brief illness.
She has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
Rabi would be remembered in Kannywood for her singing, especially in the movies Mujadala, Muradi and Ukuba.
One of her last public performances was at her colleague, Fati Musa’s, wedding in December 2013.
She was one of the first singers in the industry, performing alongside Yakubu Mohammed.
At her family house in Kano, on Thursday, friends and colleagues trooped in to condole with the deceased’s family.
A family friend, Aliyu Ahmed, who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES, said Kannywood industry had really lost a talent.
“Rabi is among the best if not the best singer in Kannywood. She will surely be missed, no doubt about it. Everybody is here with the family; Kannywood has been at a standstill since yesterday (Wednesday) evening till this morning,” said Ahmed.

Kannywood Star Ali Nuhu Denies Reports that He is Marrying a Second Wife

Ali Nuhu is shutting down reports that he is set to marry a second wife in February.

Ali who is also a musician, producer and director, is married to Maimuna and has three children (one not pictured).

Reports surfaced via social networking sites that Ali will wed again in the first week of February in Kano. It was rumoured that the wife was from a rich family in one of the biggest emirates in Kaduna.

Kannywood Scene, a platform showcasing Hausa speaking actors (Kannywood) revealed that Ali isn’t getting married, which the actor later retweeted to his 40,000 followers.
